The GK Story: On The Spot
|
When we reopened GailKimSource.Com under new management, I managed to get the opportunity to interview Gail Kim about random things inside & outside of wrestling! So here is GKS.Com getting to Gail Beyond the Six Sides!
If you could face one diva out of the WWE who would it be & why?
Probably Beth Phoenix...because we came up through the indys together and i thought we had good matches then so I would hope they would even be better now! and shes the champ...so i would only want to face the best!
Out of all the knockouts, who would you consider to be your best friend?
i am really close with Ms Brooks and Christy as well. Tracy and I go waaay back. she was the first girl I met my first day of wrestling school. its nice that we get to work together again. Christy is a good person... positive and happy...we all have so much fun together. Its important to have good friends in this business...you travel together...make memories together
Do you intend on going to see old friends from WWE at the Hall of Fame?
Not at this time no...dont have plans. Im sure we will somehow meet up but it will be a busy schedule for all of us that week!
I know that you love cooking. If you were to stop wrestling & become a chef, who would like to work with?
ooh...I like Bobby Flay and Robert Irvine from Dinner Impossible.
Any past dreams you wished you had fulfilled?
i cant really say that I have any regrets...my life was meant to be on this path. I do wish I may have started wrestling a few years earlier though.
How did you feel winning the WWE Women's title in your debut?
its a blur now... i cant remember what I felt. overwhelmed maybe? being so green and that pressure... I remember thinking I didnt feel too much pressure but im sure I did in some ways. although i wished sometimes things happened differently, I wouldnt want that taken away either.
The TNA Knockouts division has been received very well by fans as well as wrestling critics. How has it been dealing with all the popularity?
Its been AMAZING!!! a dream come true. literally. its hard when you have the odds stacked against you. the opinion of womens wrestling was not on a good note...we had to prove ourselves everytime we got that chance and we still feel that way to some extent. Im just so happy that everyone has reinforced what I wanted to believe...that the fans appreciate and wanna see women wrestle! (well at least the majority)
Chris Harris' release last year: do you keep in contact with him?
well first...chris wasnt released. Chris' contract was over and he decided to move on from TNA. and yes...we still keep in contact every once in a while. he was always so nice and supportive when I was in TNA and was truly a pleasure to work with.
TNA are touring the UK for the first time this June (*I won't be there *) What aspects of English life are you looking forward to seeing?
I am just looking forward to everything...the whole experience. the fans especially. I hope we have time to do a little sightseeing and experience the UK instead of just flying in and out.
Any plans for a cookbook?
I wish!! too busy right now to devote enough time to that.
You've been in TNA for about 2 1/2 years now. What experiences have you enjoyed the most besides the Knockouts Division?
I just love the company in general...the entire roster is like a family. I have to say our fans are truly the best though...Im not just saying that. they really appreciate our efforts and love to get involved with the chants,etc...
Final message for your fans (with whom you have lots of!)?
Thanks for being so supportive and I love reading all your emails, messages etc... it brings me up on my sad days and makes me remember why I love what I do. Love you guys!!!
